After the success of the Pan Arab Anesthesia Congress 2025, we are determined to bring the latest innovations, medical advancements & key partner exhibitions to the GCC Anesthesiology fraternity under the banner of the revivifying Dubai Anesthesia Conference and Exhibition (DACE).

Cardiovascular Anesthesiologist
Dr Mohammad Ghaffaripour Jahromi is an Iranian cardiovascular anesthesiologist, intensivist, and echocardiographer in King’s College Hospital London, UAE with nearly 30 years of experience in more than 25,000 open heart surgeries. He has been a foundational figure in developing high-volume cardiovascular anesthesia and intensive care units in Iran and the UAE. Dr Mohammad has an extensive academic and professional background, serving as a committee member for the European Association of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologists and Intensive Care (EACTAIC). He is TEE Certified and reaccredited by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), and holds TTE certification from Sonography Canada. Throughout his career, Dr Mohammad has been active in the international scientific community, delivering over 100 oral presentations and case reports at conferences across the USA, UK, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Singapore, UAE, and Iran. He has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and authored books in the fields of cardiac anesthesia and intensive care.

Dr Yacine Hadjiat MD, PhD holds a medical degree with a specialization in Pain Management, a PhD in Public Health, and an MBA in Healthcare Management. He has completed advanced training and specializations in clinical research, health economics, healthcare technologies, and Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare. Throughout his career, he has held senior executive positions, including Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Innovation Officer, across the life sciences industry, innovation and technology, education, clinical practice, and academic medical research in Europe, the United States, and Asia. He remains actively connected to its industry, academic, and innovation networks globally. Dr Hadjiat currently serves as Head of Dubai Health Innovations, Founding Director of the Centre for Innovation and Technology, and Faculty at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) College of Medicine. He also leads initiatives in innovation and digital supporting the translation of research, technology, and healthcare innovation into clinical and system-level impact especially in the Pain Management Field. Dr Hadjiat is also serving as Chair of the membership committee of the International Pain Society (IASP) He maintains also several active affiliations in Research, Innovation and Health Technology at Université Paris Cité, French healthcare Research Institute (INSERM) , ESCP Business School, and ESM Business School for MSc and MBA programs in Europe and Asia.

Dr. Rajan Radhakrishnan is a Professor of Pharmacology at the College of Medicine, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), Dubai, and a registered pharmacist in the United States. He received his academic training in India (BSc and BPharm), the United Kingdom (MSc in Pharmacology, University of Strathclyde), Singapore (PhD in Pharmacology, National University of Singapore), and the United States (postdoctoral fellowship in pain neurobiology at the University of Iowa). Dr. Radhakrishnan has more than 30 years of experience in pharmacology education, biomedical research, and academic leadership across the Malaysia, the United States, and UAE. Before joining MBRU, he held Professor and academic administrative positions at the University of Charleston, Roseman University of Health Sciences, Western University of Health Sciences, and served as Adjunct Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, USA. His research focuses on pain neurobiology, neuropharmacology, inflammatory mechanisms of pain, tumor–neuron interactions, statin-induced myalgia, ion channels (TRPV and ASIC), and translational pharmacology. He has authored approximately 50 peer-reviewed publications, several book chapters, and has received multiple competitive research grants in pain and inflammation research. Dr. Radhakrishnan serves as an Editor of Phytotherapy Research (Wiley) and is an Editorial Board Member of Inflammopharmacology (Springer). He has also served on numerous national and international scientific committees, including leadership roles within the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the American Pain Society.

Dr. Salah Al-Ali is a Netherlands board certified consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. He has worked in Rotterdam University Medical Center as a university pain physician from 2010 -2020, it is one of the biggest and leading academic medical centers in Europe. Dr. Salah is leading the pain medicine unit in Rashid Hospital and Trauma Centre, Dubai, UAE since 2020. In addition to extensive education and experiences, he was involved in coordinating the pain medicine training for anaesthesia resident and postgraduate fellowship program for pain specialists. He has lectured nationally and internationally. He is interested in research and currently working on his PhD project.

Dr. Mai Ismail has a 26- year career in anesthesia that started by employment in Mattaria Teaching Hospital, a large referral and trauma center, gave the start to her huge practical experience and the interest in clinical teaching. Paediatric anesthesia was a focus of study, as the MSc and MD (Cairo University in 2010) researches both involved paediatrics. Coming to the UAE in 2011, Dr Mai refined her experience by entering the more modern and advanced era in anesthetic techniques, with a special interest and experience in pediatrics. She continued her passion towards teaching by conducting workshops and lectures in different fields and at various clinical levels.

Dr. Firago graduated from Medical University in Minsk, Belarus, and subsequently spent four years working with the International Committee of the Red Cross in crisis areas. He later moved to Germany, where he worked at university hospitals in Bad Oeynhausen and Bielefeld. He holds the German Board Certification in Anaesthesiology (Facharzt) as well as the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC). Since 2014, Dr. Firago has served as Head of the Department of Anaesthesia at Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital, Umm Al Quwain, UAE. In February 2023, Oxford University Press published How to Pass the EDAIC, a question-based preparation book for the European Anaesthesia Board examination. Dr. Firago contributed as the author of the chapter on “Special Anaesthesia.”

Prof. Dr. Alexander Tzabazis is the Head of the Department of Anesthesia, Intensive Care, Rescue and Pain Medicine at BG Klinikum Hamburg, Germany, which is specialised in the treatment of acute care and the rehabilitation of victims of severe work-related injuries, including burn injuries. He completed his medical training and residency at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen, Germany, had academic appointments at Stanford University Medical Center, USA, and University hospital Schleswig-Holstein in Luebeck, Germany. His clinical focus is anesthesia for orthopedic and trauma surgery including regional anesthesia. Research interests include nociception monitoring and innovative pain treatments.

Dr Ahmed Abdel-Aziz MSc, MD, FRCA is a consultant paediatric anaesthetist and paediatric intensivist with over 30 years of experience. He is the course director for 3 ultrasound courses accredited by The Royal College of Anaesthesia, one of the core developers of the MSc in Regional Anaesthesia, East Anglia University, examiner for the MSc RA, senior lecturer at East Anglia University, Royal College of Anaesthesia representative for consultant appointments and Educational Coordinator for the North East Society for Regional Anaesthesia, UK and a reviewer for anaesthesia journal Dr Abdel-Aziz has been working as a consultant paediatric anaesthesia and paediatric intensivist at The James Cook University Hospital until 2015 until he relocated to the UAE. His area of interest is paediatric emergencies and his passion is utilisation of ultrasound in anaesthesia and teaching.

Dr. Mai Ismail has a 26- year career in anesthesia that started by employment in Mattaria Teaching Hospital, a large referral and trauma center, gave the start to her huge practical experience and the interest in clinical teaching. Paediatric anesthesia was a focus of study, as the MSc and MD (Cairo University in 2010) researches both involved paediatrics. Coming to the UAE in 2011, Dr Mai refined her experience by entering the more modern and advanced era in anesthetic techniques, with a special interest and experience in pediatrics. She continued her passion towards teaching by conducting workshops and lectures in different fields and at various clinical levels.

Dr. Alexander Klingmann is Consultant anesthesiologist at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, Dubai, UAE since 2015 Dr. Alexander graduated in 1994 from Heidelberg university in Germany. He completed all his specialist anesthesia training and fellowship in intensive care medicine and emergency medicine in Germany. Before joining Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, he was consultant anesthetist in different large hospitals in Germany as there was Detmold, university hospital of Heidelberg and governmental hospital of Karlsruhe. Dr. Alexander worked as a clinician with adult and pediatric patients for more than 30 years with a focus on pediatric anesthesia since 25 years. In his career he was experiencing several times the situation building up and optimizing pediatric anesthesia services. He is affiliate member of the European and German Society for Pediatric Anesthesiology. Dr. Alexander’s areas of clinical interest are neonatal and pediatric perioperative anesthesia care, furthermore postoperative pain management and pediatric sedation.

Professor Amany Ezzat Ayad, MD, FIPP, is a Professor of Anesthesia, ICU and Pain, Cairo University and Chair of the Pain Management Department at Dar Al Fouad Hospital, Egypt. A Fellow of the World Institute of Pain,and the elected chair of the WIP Middle East Section, from 2019-2025. She is a founding member of the African society of Regional Anesthesia and pain medicine(AFSRA) and served as the general secretary till 2025. Her expertise encompasses acute pain service governance, and chronic pain management interventions. With over 25 years of experience, she is an active researcher with over 20 peer-reviewed publications and book chapter. Dr. Ayad holds significant leadership roles, currently serving as Vice President of the Egypttian Foundation for Interventional Pain Practice (EFIPP) and as a scientefic board member of the Egyptian Fellowship for Pain Medicine and Intervention

Prof. Ahmed Shorrab is a Senior Consultant anesthetist with more than 30 years of experience. He is currently the head of anesthesia department and director of Surgical Services in University Hospital Sharjah, UAE. He is a professor of anesthesia at Faculty of medicine, University of Mansoura, Egypt and an adjunct professor of clinical sciences in college of medicine, University of Sharjah. Dr. Shorrab has been practicing medicine since 1989 after graduating from Mansoura University in Egypt. He continued his post graduate work in Anesthesiology and went on to complete his Master in Anesthesiology and Surgical Intensive Care from the same university followed by the Doctorate degree in the same field through joint supervision in Mansoura University Hospitals and in Guy’s Hospital, London, UK. He is also holding Diploma of clinical medical nutrition from the European Society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition (ESPEN) and a Master degree in Leadership in Health Professions Education from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland RCSI. He published in various medical journals and led many training courses in management of difficult airways, vascular access and procedural sedation. He is also a peer reviewer for many international journals. As a professor of anesthesia and clinical sciences in University of Mansoura (Egypt) and University of Sharjah (UAE), he has mentored and supervised many postgraduate students for Master and Doctorate degrees.
